In case you weren't aware, there was a big football game this weekend in Indianapolis.
There were parties and expensive parking spots and celebrities galore.
Saturday night before the party, many were attending parties that had tickets ranging from $325 to $1125 (per ticket) to invite only. I heard on Saturday that tickets were still being sold for that game on Sunday - with ticket prices around $3300. Per seat.
On Saturday night, I went to bed at 8:00 p.m..
On Sunday, I spent the day with family and prepared a blog post for the Wild Elephant Project.
I'm sure those that attended the parties and the game had once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I'm sure they will have stories to tell their children and grandchildren. I'm sure some of them have regrets about those 24 hours. Now that the parties and game are over, I hope they enjoyed their time.
I too had once-in-a-lifetime experiences (spending that day with my children and nieces and nephews). I too will have stories to tell - and share with - my children and grandchildren. I admit: I definitely wish I could have been at some of those parties and talked with a few of those celebrities. (I only live an hour south of Indianapolis.) Now that Monday rolls around, I'm quite glad we still have money in our bank account and that the post for the Wild Elephant Project is done.
We all have our own realities.
Why spend time wishing we were in someone else's?
